Mia
delivered four litters of puppies for her owner, a commercial
breeder in Ohio, who agreed to turn this sweet little girl over to the FBVillage
so that she could enjoy a well earned retirement. Mia's days
of motherhood are behind her now.
Mia is an active, friendly
and outgoing little dog who is affectionate with people, g ets
along with other dogs, and ignores cats. She loves the
other dogs in her
foster home (a five year old toy poodle, a five year old French
Bulldog female, and another foster dog, a five year old French
Bulldog female, also from
a commercial kennel). She plays very well with all of them
and many times will instigate play time. Mia does tend to
be protective of her toys and chew bones and will chase off any
dog that attempts to take them from her. Her foster
parents' grandchildren visit every week and Mia loves them.
The youngest is six years old and the oldest is fifteen years
old, Mia gets very excited to see them and begs to be petted and
held.
Mia is crate trained and
almost housebroken, she will require supervision to maintain her
house manners. Keep
in mind that any dog in a new situation may have a few
accidents until she learns her new schedule. Mia has
allergies that are evident on her paws and her hind end.
Her foster parents think these are environmentally caused
allergies, possibly to grass. After coming in from
outside, she will lick and dig at her paws and sometimes scoot
her bottom across the floor until it's red. Her
foster home has treated her with prednisone on the advice
of their veterinarian, but a new home might want to consider a
change of diet and a change of environment. City sidewalks
may be the best choice for this little girl! She has no
other apparent health issues, and
she is current on her
veterinary care.
Mia would be so happy in
any home that could love an older Frenchie. This girl
wants so much to be loved and spoiled by someone, anyone, to
have a lap to sit on and a bed to sleep on. She would love
a home with other dogs, and she certainly enjoys children, but
most important is a family who will not be put off by her
allergies and her not quite perfect house manners, who would be
willing to work with her to overcome both, who will love her all
the same and be patient with her. She is a very sweet,
loving dog who will make someone a wonderful companion.
