Lulu, a former K-kid and blind since birth, continues to astound and amaze. Her adoptive owner, Vicky, reports that she has now joined the regular training class and is doing great. Her blindness has not prevented her from learning like any other dog in class. The only difference is that instead of using just hand signals, they are using touch with her. She is also learning to walk much better on leash. Good work Lulu and Vicky!

Former K-kid and special needs pup extraordinaire, Lulu turns a year old today. She has certainly come a
long way since being dropped off at the Village’s doorstep at the tender age of 9 weeks. Her mom, Vicky, writes that Lulu continues to do well in her training class and is much more confident handling new situations. She no longer needs to sleep in her crate and in fact has taken over much of Vicky and her husband’s bed (her husband claims to have no idea how this happened). She loves to ride in the car and loves to “look” out the window, just like any other seeing dog.
So, happy birthday to you, Lulu. All of us at the Village are proud of how far you’ve come!
